Karachi: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Recovers Over 700kg Ice from Container

KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully executed a major operation, resulting in the recovery of over 700 kilograms of Ice being smuggled within a container destined for Malaysia. This significant seizure occurred following an anonymous tip at the South Asia Pakistan Terminal located in Karachi.

According to authorities, the methamphetamine (Ice) was concealed alongside bags of calcium carbonate.
During a thorough search of 854 bags of calcium carbonate within the container, ANF discovered that 28 bags contained illicit methamphetamine.
The accused individual behind this scheme has been apprehended, and further investigations are underway to capture additional suspects involved in this operation.

This massive seizure from the South Asia Pakistan Terminal is estimated to have a substantial value on the international market.

An anti-narcotics court within Islamabad recently handed down sentences totaling 41 years of imprisonment, along with a monetary fine for three members of an illicit drug trafficking group.

According to Prosecutor Fahad Malik:
*Opium was found in the possession of this trio, and their vehicle used for smuggling these drugs was also confiscated during the raid. The laboratory analysis confirmed positive results for opiates, and upon interrogation, the suspects admitted to participating in drug trafficking activities.
Judge Raja Jawad Abbas ruled against them, imposing a combined punishment of 41 years behind bars along with an additional fine of Rs. 1.2 million each for Mubashir Hussain and Zahida Parveen.
