Karachi Beautification Meeting Chaired by Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi

Syed Hassan Naqvi chaired a meeting to review the beautification and rehabilitation of Shahrah-e-Faisal as well as I.I. Chundrigar Road along with Shahrah-e-Quaiden and Marine Promenade in Karachi city on Friday, December 25th, 2024 at Commissioner’s office which was attended by all Deputy Commissioners of the City Corporation for reviewing their respective plans as well.
The meeting focused particularly upon Shahrah-e-Faisal, I.I. Chundrigar Road and Marine Promenade where repairs were to be expedited across these roads with priority on utility chambers repair work at various locations especially around the busy junction of Sindh Abadia Bus Stand along Mandra City as well due to pedestrian difficulties faced in footpaths areas.
The meeting also reviewed measures for covering manholes, repairs and installation of streetlights; relocating garbage dumps from prominent locations outside their present site with efforts being made at cleaning up the city under a proper scheme developed by Municipal Services Director General Tariq Mughal in consultation with all District Commissioners.
The meeting was briefed on development work done and progress of various works such as beautification, patchwork completed for Shahrah-e-Pakistan Road within Central district along Sindh Abadia Bus Stand junction covering other areas like Sher Shah Suri road etc.; tree plantation in collaboration with NGOs planned.
A special mention was made on the Chowrangi being beautified through support from Bohra community; Model Market and Development Park at AO Clinic were also noted to be undertaken under Town Administration’s help respectively along Shahrah-e-Faisal where progress has been reported by DC South Altaf Sario.
Syed Hassan Naqvi concluded that with the collaboration of Karachi Development Authority (KDA), sports complexes would indeed also be built in various flyovers within District Central under his leadership as per plans proposed for Shahrah-e-Faisal and Marine Promenade which were reported to have commenced work.
The meeting was informed that the beautification of I.I. Chundrigar Road has been directed by DC South Altaf Sario who also focused on improving footpaths area with reports showing positive development in this regard as well.
