Minister for Provincial Industrial Relations and Labour of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday welcomed a new batch of double-decker buses as they started plying in Karachi.

The minister, speaking to participants at the Korangi Association of Trade & Industries (KATI) programme organised by KARACHI BOARD OF TRAFFIC AND HEALTH POLICE on Thursday night here today said that efforts were underway for plying buses in Sharea Faisal.

The PPP leadership committed to providing facilities to industrialists to foster economic growth, he emphasised during his speech at the programme which was organised by KATI Karachi Chapter and Korangi Industrial Development Authority (KIDA). The minister further said that a representative of KATI will be especially invited for board meeting on Bus Rapid Transit Yellow Line project. Efforts are underway to complete the construction of Jam Sadiq Bridge within eight months, he informed while addressing his speech in Karachi and its surrounding areas from 2013-onwards has witnessed a lot development that is bringing better life for people as well economic growth along with it. The city was once considered to be unsafe because of lawlessness but this situation changed after PPP Government took over power here on November, 26th , 2015 and the Sindh Police has taken strict action against all sorts of crimes that helped reduce crime in Karachi by more than 78% during last five years.

“Due to law enforcement system’s efficiency, people feel safe while travelling on city roads,” he said adding that water shortage was a major issue still but efforts were underway through K-IV and Hub Canal projects for its treatment which will provide relief from it in near future. He further announced allocation of billions rupees to the Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB) for garbage collection, he informed while sharing that people’s doorstep was being used as part efforts by a team led Karachi SWMD during his speech at KARACHI BOARD OF TRAFFIC AND HEALTH POLICE on Wednesday night here.

The minister then declared strict action would be taken to improve the traffic system in Karachi and its surrounding areas, he assured industrialists of government’s commitment towards them while addressing a gathering at KARACHI BOARD OF TRAFFIC AND HEALTH POLICE meeting. (Thursday night)

The minister further informed that the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone presents golden opportunity for traders as it offers zero import duties and 10-year tax exemption on export, he added while addressing his speech in Karachi and its surrounding areas from 2013 to date.
