KARACHI: A large number of people suffered through hours-long traffic jam on Mai Kolachi Road. The traffic was congested from late Tuesday night until Wednesday morning due to the breakdown of three heavy vehicles at Jinnah Bridge and ICI Bridge, causing chaos for commuters throughout the city.
Ahmed Nawaz Cheema stated that they managed the situation within two hours, with normal traffic flow restored around 10am on Wednesday following their efforts to clear the bottleltrap caused by vehicles stranded in long queues and roadworks obstructing key links of district East.
Apart from this particular issue, citizens also faced agonizing traffic jams in other parts of the city as reported by Dawn on January 9th, 2025:
- Long queues seen stuck at Jahangir Road and M.A. Jinnah Road.
- Soldier Bazaar among others experiencing significant delays during evening peak hours due to a host of reasons such as digging for construction works or laying utility lines, along with the impact from “VVIP movement” on major thoroughfares throughout Karachi.
