Karachi Anti-Criminal Operations Yield Massive Busts Across City Zones

In a sweeping crackdown on criminal elements across the city’s East, West and South zones last week, Karachi Police arrested over 631 suspects. According to spokesperson statements made Monday:
- The operations included 12 armed encounters with robbers resulting in one death
- Leading to the arrest of an additional 4 injured suspects (referred to as ‘injured’)
- A total number of 23 criminals were apprehended, which includes
- 14 alleged robbery culprits and another three unspecified types of offenders.
In these operations:
- The police recovered 19 illegal weapons including firearms that are not to be possessed without a license in Pakistan, along with seven motorcycles from the suspects.
- Over 83 seized illegal small arms and gunpowder were found amongst other contraband items like cocaine, marijuana (hashish), ice (methamphetamine) crystal meth, as well as heroin worth millions of rupees.
- In addition to the drugs recovered during these intense raids:
- A total of 44 stolen motorcycles and two large vehicles were confiscated from criminal possession within a span of three days across various parts in Karachi city such as Gulberg, Clifton etc.
