Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab discussed the positive image and sports potential of Karachi at KMC Sports Complex after watching a Kabaddi match during Commissioner Karachi Sports Festival on December 26th, 2024.
He highlighted promoting diverse cultures through grassroled level sporting activities in Karachi to his fellow citizens by interacting with various officials and representatives present at the event which also included sports organizer Ghulam Muhammed, social worker Mehmood Ahmed Khan, Director Sports KMC Aftab Qaimkhani among others.
During a donkey cart race held in Karachi recently Mayor Wahab stressed on celebrating diverse cultures like Punjabi and Sindhi as well the traditional sport of Kabaddi during Christmas to promote unity between religious communities, while commending Commissioner Naqvi for his efforts towards promoting sports activities which he pledged himself will actively participate in.
A forthcoming rowing event scheduled on January 5th was also mentioned by Mayor Wahab as another instance of positive activity taking place within the city to improve youth’s morale and healthy lifestyle choices, marking it a significant occasion for local sportsmanship growth along with cultural appreciation.
