Cold Wave Intensifies with Minimum Temperature Dropping to a Single Digit in Karachi Airport and Surrounding Areas

The cold wave gripping the province turned intense early Wednesday morning…minimum temperature dropping to a single digit.
Data provided by the Met department showed.
The minimum temperature recorded at Jinnah Terminal was 9.1 degrees Celsisus, followed by:

  • Gulistan-i-Jauhar, with temperatures of 10°C
  • Bin Qasim had a reading of
    12.2 °C.
    Mauripur recorded 12.5 °C. The average temperature for the city was reported as 11.3 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels fell to 22% in the evening hours.
    In Mithi and Mohenjodaro, Sindh’s lowest temperatures were noted with readings of:
  • Mithi at 2.5°C
  • Mohenjodaro was slightly warmer with a temperature of 4°C
    The Met Office predicts that dry and cool weather will continue to prevail in Karachi, forecasting minimum temperatures ranging from between 10-13°C.
    In the upper Sindh region, expectations are for lows around 6-8°C. Central areas anticipate a dip of about 7-9°C while southern regions could experience cooler conditions with minimums expected to be within the range of 10-12 °C.
