Kiosks Enable Citizs to Renew Smart NICs Easily in Karachi

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov 23rd, 2024) In a significant move, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to install automated self-service kiosks across Karachi.

During IDEAS 2024 Defense Expo held at Expo Center Karachi:

“In a significant move to facilitate citizens, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to install automated self-service kiosks across Karachi. The initial installation would be done in mega centers throughout Pakistan.” – NADRA Assistant Director Ammar Haider
He noted that this is the first installation of its kind in Karachi, although similar kiosks have already been deployed at NADRA mega centers in Islamabad. According to him: “The citizens can complete 8-9 data steps including entering their details via a keyboard and biometric scans.”
A QR code will be issued for payment, which is possible through JazzCash or Easypaisa. In the next phase of development Point of Sale (POS) systems are planned to integrate into kiosks enabling payments made by debit/credit cards. These automated self-service kiosks will also be installed at railway stations, airports and shopping malls for better accessibility across the city beyond NADRA’s established centers including:
