Four Killed in Six Incidents of Firing in Karachi within Three Hours

Karachi Crime Updates:
A series of tragic events unfolded in Karachi on Saturday, October 5, 2025, resulting in the loss of four lives across six separate incidents of firing within a three-hour period.
Orangi Town Incident:
Noor Alam, a shopkeeper and Quran hafiz, was fatally shot during an exchange of fire with robbers who attempted to rob his store. Alam had resisted the robbery, snatching an arm from one of the assailants and firing back. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries later. The robber, Rahim, also died from his wounds. Alam was married just 11 months prior.
Landhi Incident:
A man riding a motorcycle was chased and shot dead by two unidentified assailants in the Sherpao Colony area of Landhi. He received three bullets in his head. Police recovered Rs 700 from his pockets, but no identification documents were found on him. They are working to identify him through NADRA records and confirming the motorcycle's registration details. The investigation suggests a possible target killing.
Malir Encounter:
An extortionist, Ghulam Qadir, was killed during an encounter with police in Bakra Piri, Malir. Qadir was part of a gang associated with Samad Kathiwari's network in Karachi. Police recovered a mobile phone used in extortion and weapons from the scene.
New Karachi Incident:
A police officer sustained injuries due to firing by robbers in New Karachi. Following an encounter, police apprehended a suspected robber in an injured state.
North Nazimabad Incident:
Citizens in North Nazimabad detained an alleged robber after subjecting him to torture.
Tragic Drowning:
In a heart-wrenching incident, a three-year-old girl child drowned in a water pail in the F.B area (Block 14). Police are investigating to determine whether it was an accident or homicide.
Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Incident:
Earlier in the day, a woman named Fahmida, residing in Malir, lost her life after being struck by a stray bullet fired during a gunfight between two unidentified men outside JPMC's gynecology ward. She was walking with her daughter when she was hit in the chest and rushed to the hospital's emergency ward, but sadly succumbed to her injuries.
