Safe City Project Progress: Enhanced Security with Real-Time Monitoring and Live Feed to CPO

As per a recent report presented by the Director General of Sindh Safe Cities Authority (SSCA), Asif Ejaz Shaikh, on Tuesday. “More than 50pc of 300 pole sites and 100 cameras installed,” project DG tells Murad.
“Out of a planned network exceeding the city’s size at over Rs3 billion for Phase One, we have successfully erected around one-third to facilitate comprehensive security coverage.” Mr Shah commended this rapid progress and urged all stakeholders involved in ensuring that project completion aligns with scheduled timelines.

Installation of Poles Across Karachi for Improved Surveillance Capabilities

A network exceeding 300 pole sites, strategically located throughout the city to bolster security infrastructure and enhance public safety has been installed successfully in phases: The first phase consisting of 157 poles now equipped with real-time monitoring capabilities. These installations allow for live footage transmission directly from these key locations back to Karachi’s Central Police Office (CPO).

Milestones Achieved and Areas Under Enhanced Surveillance Coverage

Certain high impact areas have already been identified where the project’s implementation has significantly reduced crime rates, ensuring safety for residents. These include: – Sharea Faisal – Vicinity of Expo Centre (now under enhanced surveillance) – Airport surroundings and Civic Center are among key strategically important locations that have also been installed with robust monitoring capabilities.

Objective of the Safe City Project in Karachi to Improve Public Safety & Security

The chief minister emphasized on making Karachi one of the safest cities by ensuring public safety and security through this ambitious project worth over Rs3 billion, which aims at reducing crime rate. The first phase is expected to be completed within 12 months from its launch early this year with further expansion planned in subsequent phases for other parts of Sindh province as well.

Expansion Beyond Karachi: Phase Two Plans and Objectives

The second phase would expand the scope beyond Karachi, targeting other cities within Pakistan’s Sindh province to replicate this success story after its successful implementation in the city, further enhancing public safety across multiple urban regions. This comprehensive security enhancement project aims at establishing robust surveillance mechanisms that not only deter criminal activities but also ensure speedy response times for emergencies thereby significantly improving overall quality of life within Sindh province’s cities and towns in the coming years to come.
