STP stages big rally in Karachi against canals project

A Rally Against Federal Canals on Indus River by Sindh Taraqi-pasand Party (STP)

In Karachi: The rally organised last Sunday gave a call for strike against the federal government’s plan to build additional canals on the Indus River.
Dr Qadir Magsi, an eminent figure of STP and its leader announced this in Ghaghar Phatak. A large number joined him from across the city including women & children who took out a procession towards Karachi Press Club where Dr Magsi made his announcement. He also spoke to press outside office building on Sunday afternoon.
“The federal government’s plan would aggravate water scarcity in Sindh which is already facing this situation.”
Dr Qadir Maqsi, chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party asked the PPP and all political parties at national level to support his demands. He told that it was essential for Karachi & other cities’ people also as they would be affected in future by such a move.

He urged them not only on ground but from Parliaments too if need arises, saying he will do what even take bullets into chest to protect water of the Indus. He asked all Sindhis who have migrated and are living abroad as well those working in other countries across Pakistan & globe (UK, America etc.) to join them on ground for demonstration if they want their rightful share.
He concluded his address by assuring that he will continue this struggle until federal government announces the cancellation of project. A protest like never before is planned which would be participated not only in Sindh but other major cities also where PPP has strong presence, including Karachi and Lahore & Islamabad too.
