Cold wave continues to blanket Pakistan’s metropolis on Saturday; minimum temperature drops sharply – DAWN News

The city experienced the coldest night of the current month as Sindh reported a drop in temperatures and humidity levels. In summary, the cold wave is expected to persist for several days more. As per reports from Jinnah Terminal area: 8.5°C minimum temperature recorded on Saturday; maximum at 25.3°C with evening humidity dropping to as low as 13% in the night.

  • Minimum temperatures are likely range between 9 and 12 degree Celsius over next two days – Sindh Met Office advisory; Nightly temperature expected at least a few degrees below normal with wind chill felt to be colder as per official bulletin from National Disaster Management Authority. The cold wave continues in upper, central & lower regions of Pakistan on December 24th and is predicted to last for days more than two weeks following the first snowfall this season which was reported near Islamabad early Wednesday; Thursday nights expected coldest with temperatures dipping further below normal.
  • Minimum temperature recorded in Jinnah Terminal area – 8.5°C minimum on Saturday, highest of January month to date at 25.3°C maximum and humidity levels dropping down as low as *13% during the nights. This is a record for December’s coldest temperatures in Pakistan capital city since first snowfall this season was reported near Islamabad early Wednesday; Thursday, 20.7°C minimum temperature recorded by Met department advisory – lowest of January month to date and maximum at 16.8°C on the same day with humidity levels dropping down as low as 4% in upper areas during nights while for lower Sindh, record has been set at 0-3 °C minimum temperature since first snowfall this season reported near Islamabad early Wednesday; Thursday.
