Karachi Antiterrorism Court Remands Suspects in Custody
An antiterrorism court (ATC) has remanded two suspects, including the alleged mastermind behind a suicide bombing near Karachi airport that resulted in fatalities among both Chinese nationals and a Pakistani citizen.
The investigating officer of the Counter Terrorism Department submitted a report during the proceedings.
Three persons were killed and at least 11 others injured, as reported by the IO.
At the outset of the remand proceedings:
Suspect Javed disclosed reconnaissance activities conducted with an absconding suspect named Danish.
The female suspect was claimed to have assisted suicide bomber Shah Fahad in crossing a critical location.
Bashir Ahmed, alias Bashir Zeb, and Abdul Rehman, alias Rehman Gul, were mentioned as alleged planners by the IO.
A request for formation of a joint investigation team (JIT) was made to conduct further inquiries.
The suspects were remanded in police custody for 10 days.
