Sessions Court Sentences Woman to Life Imprisonment for Killing Husband with Co-accused’s Help – DAWN NEWS
In a chilling case that unfolded in the Peerabad police station jurisdiction, Asma and her accomplice Ghulam Nabi alias Deedar have been found guilty of committing fratricide. The court has handed down life imprisonment to Asma while imposing death penalty on Ghulam Nabi for strangulation.
Their conviction came after corroborating witnesses testified against them in the presence of a bewildered Judge, who remarked: “They failed to establish their plea.”
- Both were ordered to pay Rs500,000 each as compensation for damages.
The wife’s confession played an integral role during her testimony in court where she revealed the ghastly manner of execution they planned: “She mixed sleeping pills into his milk which led him fall unconscious and after he fell, Deedar used a wire to shock and strangle Shah Zaman.”
The complainant provided an account that on November 5th, 2019, received call from cousin who informed about the death of Sha Zaman. The post-mortem report confirmed: “He died due to ‘strangulation & electric shock’ by Ghulam Nabi.”
