The Severed Head of a Young Woman Discovered in Karachi’s Orangi Town Drain

The severed head of a young woman was found in an open drain in Orangi Town on Saturday, police said.

SSP-West Tariq Illahi Mastoi reported that the woman’s head was discovered floating in the drain water within Qasba Colony, under Pirabad police station jurisdiction. Following this alarming discovery, authorities acted swiftly:

  • The severed head was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal proceedings and potential identification.

  • A Crime Scene Unit was dispatched to the site to gather evidence.

  • Further investigations are being conducted to determine the circumstances of the incident, with efforts ongoing towards identifying the victim.

Area SHO Imtiaz Mirjat stated that doctors informed police that a sharp weapon had been used. The preliminary findings suggest:

  • The young woman met her fate sometime around Saturday.

  • Her remains were disposed of in the drain, presumably deliberately.

  • There is an ongoing search for any other parts of the body that may have been left behind.
