Milk Price Increased in Karachi by Rs 20 per Litre
KARACHI: The price of milk has been increased by Rs 20 per litre, as per an official notification issued by the Commissioner of Karachi.
Under the new rates:
- Dairy farmer price: Rs 215 per litre
- Wholesale price: Rs 225 per litre
- Retail price for consumers: Rs 240 per litre
This decision was taken after a meeting between Commissioner Karachi, Hassan Naqvi, and a delegation from the Karachi Dairy Farmers on Tuesday evening. The delegation cited escalating milk production costs as the reason for the hike, arguing that the previous rates were no longer sustainable for farmers.
