Second Marriage: Christian Woman Wins Legal Battle in Rare Case
In a rare instance, a local Christian woman has won her longstanding legal battle against an ‘unemployed’ husband who got into an illegal second marriage while she was away making a living for his whole family.
Aster Younis, in her late thirties, married Joshua Ilyas back in December 2020, after which she had to fly to Dubai to pursue a job offer so that her in-laws could pay back a debt amount they had accrued. During her absence, her husband remarried his old friend.
